the dog was a very good hotel that met all our needs without breaking the bank. we enjoyed the convenience of walking straight from the hotel, making it a great spot for a getaway. my favorite part was the pie, which was the best I’ve had in ages. the staff was friendly and they even treated my dog to a breakfast sausage!

Perfect pub stay!
Spent a cozy night here, super chill spot next to the moors. Dinner was fab by the open fire! Staff were really nice and even let me have an earlier breakfast. Only thing was the WiFi could’ve been better, but everything else was spot on.

We had an amazing stay with friends, enjoying the beautiful walking paths by the water and a great time at the Under the Stars music festival. The atmosphere was cozy, and our room was perfect for our group. The staff was friendly, and the bar prices were very reasonable. Breakfast was good but could be improved a bit.

I had a lovely stay with the most delicious pie I've ever tasted and they even treated my dog to a breakfast sausage! The garden area was perfect for relaxing with a drink, and I enjoyed a nice evening watching some live music. Just a small thing, but I wish they had real butter instead of spread for the toast at breakfast. 😊

Cozy refuge after a long hike
Arrived on foot and got a lovely comfy double after dropping off my rucksack. The roaring log fire was a lifesaver for thawing out after a wet day. Room was tidied daily, and the food was really good and available all day. Only hitch was the walk to the bus stop—half an hour with no path, which is a bit risky.

What a delightful surprise! The roast pork lunch was out of this world, and breakfast with the local sausage was perfect. Our room had a charming view, but the underfloor heating made it too stuffy at night. I'd happily return!

Remote charm with historical vibes. cozy bar featuring a roaring fire creates a warm atmosphere. Breakfast offers a nice variety with choice of cereals, fruits, and hearty options like the Full Yorkshire that satisfies the morning hunger well.
Some rooms lack a dressing table, which could be an inconvenience for those needing a spot for makeup or grooming. The velux window in one room had no blind, letting in early morning light which might disturb light sleepers. mobile reception isn’t reliable, requiring some wandering to catch a signal, and the absence of WiFi might frustrate those needing connectivity.
